COUNSELLING AND SUPERVISION IN DERBYSHIRE
I am a Senior Accredited counsellor with more than 20 years experience in education, GP surgeries and voluntary organisations.
My private practice in Derbyshire is for anyone seeking counselling, clinical supervision or facilitation of specific training events.
All sorts of circumstances change who and how we are and sometimes can lead us into painful thoughts, and feelings or behaviours we don't recognise or like in ourselves. Talking things through with a counsellor can help us re-connect and find our own understanding and ways forward.
I have experience with many issues including depression, oppression, anxiety, grief, trauma, disability and all aspects of identity. (For a fuller list see the next page: "About Counselling"). I know that we are not simply made of the issues we face, we are each unique in our feelings, reactions and responses. I work in a way that will provide you with the space and genuine respect to explore whatever you wish to, in the way that makes most sense to you. Because I understand the importance of being truly heard just as we are, I listen with acceptance, openness, authenticity and a freedom from judgement.
I welcome people from all walks and at all stages of life, including near its end. (Please see About Counselling page).
I seek to provide accessible counselling for people with mobility difficulties and other disabilities, (see FAQs, and/or contact me to discuss).
I find that being in the natural world can give us a greater sense of our own nature, change our perspective and challenge us, so you can choose (after the initial session) if you would like to work inside or outside. For more information please see the Details page.
Please read about my approach and contact me by phone or email if you'd like to talk any of it through. I will respond to you as soon as possible.
For other therapists working outside, please see Links page.
